Pride month has always been a special time of year for FICKS. As a San Francisco based cocktail company, we've been fortunate to be part of a community that celebrates and elevates pride in special ways to mark the occasion for the LGBTQ community and its allies each year. And each year we like to think of how FICKS can lend our voice to the festivities. This year, we've created a limited batch of pride shirts to express our pride in free love, as well as pride in our California home.
If you want to join FICKS in celebrating pride month, we'll be the profits from these 100% cotton, and 100% super comfortable shirts to one of our favorite LGBTQ organizations in California - The Horizons Foundation.
Horizons is one of San Francisco's leaders in providing resources and funding to LGBTQ nonprofits, and has awarded over $50 million in grants to LGBTQ organizations and causes making them a top 10 funder in the history of the LGBTQ movement. They also were the first foundation in the U.S. to provide funding to an AIDS service provider.
Beyond grantmaking, Horizons invests in LGBTQ organizations by organizing Give OUT Day, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community, which has enabled hundreds of LGBTQ nonprofits across all 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico to raise millions of dollars. Horizons also provides fundraising resources and research, hosts programs for leaders of LGBTQ nonprofits, and is home to scholarship funds that invest in future LGBTQ leaders.
We like to celebrate pride at FICKS in little ways throughout the year, but with this dedicated month we hope you'll be able to join us in supporting a foundational organization to the progress of LGBTQ rights.
